I just cut a peanut butter & jelly, crusts off, diagonally. How did you know? Are you watching me in my kitchen again??? Do you like the new towels?

I cut mine straight down the middle into two parts. Every now and then I like to cut it into four.....reminds me of when I was a child.

With a knife.
Oh, from the extra information I see you mean which direction do I cut them in. Normally it's one horizontal cut. Bu if it's a home cut small loaf, then I tend to do one vertical cut (i.e. it goes through the top crust). I don't really know why.

Got to be triangles. My daughter likes them cut with a cookie cutter so hers tend to be in the shape of stars or hearts.

If I'm making sandwiches for me and my hubby then just in half, so much easier to get a hold of just in half, but if I'm making them for someone else then on the diagonal and for our little great nephew into quarters so he can share them with his teddy.

Triangle cut grated cheese sarnies, always taste better than rectangle ones. Try doing one of each as an experiment.

Perhaps your husband should stop moaning and make his own. But I quite like using fancy cutters and having fun shapes - it really brightens up my day when I open my lunch box.
