Money - don't spend more than you have - really! Lots of college kids do that and end up in deep debt early.
Studying - do lots, or you'll go home in disgrace soon after starting university. I'd recommend you make english a priority.
Friends - always a good idea. You'll meet lots of people in a university from all walks of life. Choose the ones that'll help you study and won't borrow money.
Parties - you'll see lots of those, too. Go to some, but don't go to so many that you don't study enough, or your partying days will be over - or at least confined to mom and dad's basement.
You're heading out on your own now. This is the time to show that you can be a functioning, responsible adult. It's not hard, millions of kids do it every year. All it takes is a little self-discipline.

Get drunk, have fun, and go to class most of the time. I went to a top 20 public university and graduated in 3 years, double majored, had 3.0 GPA, and was a part of the biggest fraternity on campus without worrying myself about all this supposed crazy study and being "an adult." If anything, college makes you more of a kid. College is actually fun and only stressful in the week that you're craming for tests. Oh, and that spelling pisses people off in college.

The best advice I could give you is to schedule your time.
Do not consider time between classes as 'free' time.
Make sure that you've scheduled at LEAST 2 hours of study for every 1 hour of classes.
The first semester is the hardest. Establish good study and sleep habits. Make a few friends, but don't be in a rush to get into the 'in' crowd. Stay away from parties that don't offer anything but booze and drugs.
