The Catholic Church is full of superstitions, why do you think they pray to idols instead of getting right to the guy that can actually answer their prayer?! As far as you not liking to hear others talk about lucky this or that, or other stuff, obviously you have a weakened belief system. Ppl are creatures who at some point put their faith (blind belief) in something. It might be a chair in a cafe, you believe in blind faith that it will hold you, you sit, it does, your faith is confirmed. These ppl have faith in something that perhaps they have had confirmed to them. You shouldn't criticize what you don't understand.

i was raised as a catholic in the South Bronx. Most of the peeps here are spanish now. They are a wonderful culture. Ususally when u have faith in something its because you can't see it.Many cultures and nationalities are superstitous and that dates back to our ancestors. REmember way way way back in the days if they thought you were doing witchcraft or a witch they would hang you or sentence you to death. Some superstitions stick and some don't. You shouldn't get upset though because some people belive different from you. Right that isn't fair think about it? So do you think that your beliefs are right and theres is wrong?
IF your answer is yes then that really wouldn't be fair. We all have a right to our beliefs as long as we don't disrepect, offend, or harm anyone.
If everything is explained there will be nothing to believe in hun.
Hope i helped some. Good luck

Sounds like you have issues with immigration, and this is nothing about religion or Catholicism.
If you are going to be like that though, isn't praying to anyone, Mary, God or Jesus just the same? Superstitious...

How is that superstitious? Praying to the Virgin Mary is just a way to pray to God. Christians who pray to Saints believe their prayers will be deliver to God--why are you so angry?
