"50 feet over Siam hell track". This was a headline in (I think, but may be mistaken about the paper) the Manchester Guardian in September 1945.. On Sept.15th. I was the Pilot of Dakota KN204 of 62 Sqdn. in Bangkok, having broken tne journey from my base in Rangoon the day before, bound with fuel for Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City). I gave a Newspaper reporter a lift! He particularly asked me to fly over the infamous rail track, which I did at low level. It was rumoured that the same reporter was killed on a subsequent flight to India.
