Is this a male female friendship?? If it is then tell him/her subletly. He or she may feel the same. Friendships between males and females usally end up with them shagging anyway in my experience. good luck

This is a tough situation... Firstly you have to take time to think if you really really like your friend. Now you have to look for signs that your friend likes you too (in that way), if not, try to make subtle movements and gestures to let your friend know you like him/her. See how your friend reacts. If your friend sends a positive energy, make an effort to let them know you care more for him/her than a friend. Think about your decision, it will effect your friendship forever.. just tell him/her that before this he/she just a friend only for you and then she/he become a best friend and now the friendship change to love. tell him/her that you love him/her so much. show your love to him/her.

If this is about a girl,then first find out what she thinks of friends marrying each other.If you meet regularly,not just in company of others,but alone too,I guess she is in love with you too,but shy to tell you.Maybe you can directly tell her-not in a shocking manner,but very gently.If it is about a boy,then sorry,I cannot give you any advise.
