There's an old adage that says, "It takes a lot of time to build trust, but it only takes a few seconds to shatter it into pieces." I'm not sure if that's right, but that's the gist of it. Basically, it's all truly philosophical. Humans are such sensitive creatures that an act of betrayal or one 'bad' deed towards another outweighs any good you've done for that person. They forget who you are and what you have done for them. Trust me, it's pretty shocking to have someone who's done so much for you suddenly turn their backs against you. It's not taken pretty lightly, betrayal is. Mainly because of the hurt it gives. It's something unforgettable and seldom forgiven for. Once hurt, humans become irrational creatures, so much that whatever you've done for them in the past that helped them to be where they are in the present, they simply forget about it and focus more on the fact that you've had the gall to do something 'bad' to them.

For some strange reason bad things are always remembered more than good ones. It is probably because people remember the injustice that is done against them, they harbour the hurt. Good things are acknowledged but there is no need to fester and worry about them as there is with bad things.

Because, like so many other things, most people's thought process makes no sense and is retarted. It's just like how comparing the exact same thing, but with people from different backgrounds or cultures, can either seem appropriate or completely uncalled for. It's better to ignore the people who cant use common sense to come to better judgments and decisions.

It depends on the bad thing. Short of defaming the Holy Spirit or ridiculing the sacrifice of Christ...not generally.
We all sin, and we can all achieve forgivenesss. If you are kind to animals and other people, then the occasional slip is overlooked.
Be happy and live, forgive yourself and forget.

Nobody sees the good things we do for them, it`s just like another part of the day. But a bad thing stands out a mile as they consider it an afront towards them and that`s what sticks out in their mind. Stuff `em, that`s what I say.

In my opinion, the one "bad" thing may affect someone a lot more than compared to all the good that you had offered to that person... In reality, we pick and choose our battles, its your choice to be happy, to forgive, and to move on... Its your life, you are the driver... life just follows...

i think it is just easier to remember that bad things rather then the good... i hate to say it cause i know alot of good people who do one bad thing and people talk about it for months... people have to really think about who does good deeds, and often it is a lot of thinking.. it is really sad.. people have to be often reminded about the good things, but they i bet can remember all the bad things a person does on their own... kinda sad.

Maybe it was something really bad. However, I have also had bad experiences with other people so I can see where you're coming from - people have bad memories, if they are not ungrateful. That's all I will say.
