I've heard that they last for a long time as long as they are properly taken care of.

The Honda Civic is one of the most popular cars on the road. I don't think that so many people would have 1 if it was not worth it. Besides, the gas mileage is awesome. I believe the Civic gets 35 mpg highway, and that is not the hybrid. Plus, the Civic is also very well priced. The only thing that is bad about the Civic is that you have to get one of the higher models. There is a DX, EX, and LX. The DX does not have power anything and a pretty crappy stereo. The other models have more options available such as a sunroof, leather, upgraded stereo, and of course power windows and locks. One other thing, if you are looking to go fast, the Civic is NOT the car for you. The gas mileage is so good because the car has no horsepower. So, you have to trade speed for good gas mileage... the choice is yours. Good Luck!!!

I think the Civic is TOTALLY worth purchasing. In 1995 I bought a brand new Civic DX which ran great the entire time I owded it. In June I traded it in for a 2006 Civic EX and I have nothing but good things to say about it...the gas mileage is great (approx 400 miles per tank), the pick up is great, and people comment all the time on the new design. If you don't have a huge family or don't travel with a lot of people, a Civic is the way to go. Also, the maintenance is easy now, the car tells you on the dashboard when and what needs to be done.

Of coarse, especially if your looking to modify it. The honda civic has the bigest Aftermarket support than any other car. You can replace almost anything in it that you want and usually for a good price. Now the base model civics are cheap, save a lot of gas but no fun to drive. I got a 95 civic EX, and i love the car. I swaped out the engine for the engine thats in the Acura gsr which has a lot more power good gas mileage too. So overall its a great car, get one but make sure you get a good deal on one a lot of lots know there good and try to sell them higher than the book value so just look around and get a deal, i got mine from a junkyard for 1200, nothing wrong with it but the fender and bumper missing, and the blue book value was supposed to be 3500 for it.

Yes but they are all dorky except for the new Vtech coupe, but alot of people can't afford the $25,000+ price tag. I had an 87 accord that was still going after 237,000 but it needed brakes, a windshield, & an electrical short fixed so I sold it. I have a Celica thats on 157,000.

I loved my Honda Civic....it ran forever, and my son ran it forever, and then I traded it in, still got a great value for it, and they sent it down South and I am sure it is still running around down there.

yes, Honda builds 'bulletproof' engines. very low maintenance. Only problem I have found w my civic and friend's civics is bodywork tends to rust. engine will most def outlast body if not properly rustproofed and washed.
