It's impossible to choose just one, so here are just a few:
Lets Get It On by Marvin Gaye.
Always and Forever by Luthur Vandross.
Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.
Still The One by Shania Twain.
Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.
Let's Stay Together by Al Green.
When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge.
Three Times a Lady by Lionel Richie.
Your Song by Elton John.
Fallin' by Alicia Keys.

Return to paradise - Elton John (I had a summer holiday romance)
The Pina Colada Song - Rupert Holmes (I have been in love when we stayed together too long, 'sometimes love just ain't enough' - another song)
And the one that always makes me cry when I hear it, I don't know the name because I haven't looked for it (deliberately). But it's about getting a phone call from an old flame who talks about renting a trailer by the sea and drinking tequila, the cats called Moses if that helps. (Obviously I have regrets about relationships)

Fantastic call! I haven't heard "The You And Me Song" for aaages, and I'm gonna put it on as soon as I get home. That's got to be one of the best upbeat love songs ever. Another good upbeat one is "For Once In My Life" by Stevie Wonder.

For a more downbeat one, how about "Don't Leave" by Faithless?
