Love isn't logical ~~~ at least true love isn't. Love is a feeling you can't control. At certain points in our lives we might have to suppress it because it's unhealthy, but; love in a hard thing to kill.

Well -
if you are speaking about sexual/physical attraction love? It begins with chemistry. . .
and if you are speaking about any of the other 'kinds' of love? They all begin and end with some 'self-serving' motivation - whether the individuals care to honestly admit to this reality, or not. . .
There's your 'logic' - as illogical as it may seem . . . love is - and always has been, a 'give and receive' loop. Even the kind we, in our inherent human hubris, label as 'unconditional'.
Magic??? We humans have added that element to the reproductive drive function - makes it more palatable - raises it above the animal activity level.

love is simply the term or word that one uses to describe or define a particular connection one has to another being or thing. The word itself has no magic it is but a label, the connection that you choose this word to represent is that which should be treated as magic. Viewed in this way it is not love that is magic but your experience of existing with something that gives you pleasure and fulfilment on whatever level satisfies your emotional needs.

Berger and Luckmann's Social Construction of Reality. Sociologically speaking, "love" wouldn't exist in reality "on its own" without the meanings that society has created for it.
