Not at all. Does Avon, Tupperware or Pampered Chef have a negative brand image? These are all direct marketed products.

It all depends on the product. I sell Frutaiga and I think, especially in the wellness industry direct marketing is the perfect vehicle. It gives the client one-on-one interaction, more information and better resources than simply picking it off the shelf.

Good luck if you decide to join a direct marketing company. Just do your homework first.

Any kind of marketing that insults prospects, uses deception, or makes false promises can have a negative effect on the image of a company. It doesn't matter whether it is direct or indirect. Proper execution of marketing campaigns is crucial to their short term and long term impact.
