When does implantation occur? Is always around the time your period is due or can it happen at any other time? I ask because im on the pill and hadnt planned to get pregnant but think i could be. However i had sex when i was on my first pack of pills but have taken 2 further packs since and my period should be due today/tomorrow so surely if i am pregnant implantation cant happen now cuz it was 9 weeks ago that i had sex.

Unprotected sex during your first pack of pills is usually frowned upon because the pills do need some time to get into your system. Also, you can get pregnant on the pill, it is not impossible. It is 99% effective only if taken exactly as stated on the package (which can include taking it at the exact same time each day).

As for implantation....

If conception occurred, implantation (when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine wall) typically happens seven to ten days after ovulation, but it can happen a few days earlier or later as well.

There are some signs of implantation or successful conception that may be seen on your chart but all of them can occur with or without pregnancy. You can also be pregnant and see none of these signs on your chart. There is thus really no way to know if they are related to implantation while they are happening, though they occur with greater frequency on pregnancy charts. Some possible signs of implantation or successful conception are:

light spotting that happens for just a brief period of time around seven to ten days past ovulation.
a second thermal shift that occurs around seven to ten days past ovulation.
a dip in temperature that lasts just a single day, around seven to ten days past ovulation.

Implantation bleeding happens whilst an egg has been fertilized and implants into the liner of the uterus. because of the fact the liner uterus is created from blood, there may well be a splash bit blood expelled in some ladies.

implantation happens just after you ovulate which is roughly 14 days after your period starts. If you think you could be pregnant then you would be 9wks pg by now.
