Got to be diamonds, right? The clarity, the purity, the elegance...or maybe amethysts, inspirers of hybris? What do you reckon?

Amethysts because they are my favourite colour. And they make me feel beautiful. And they are affordable, unlike diamonds.
Diamonds have been way overdone, anyway.

Diamonds are nice because of their value and the fact that they hold their value despite changes in fashion.
Since you are asking for personal favorites though.... Ohhhh, so many are sooooo beautiful!.... a good Demantoid Garnet is just breathtaking! Second would be Alexandrite.

Although I am not a fan of gemstones and jewelry, I would say that my favorite gemstone is the diamond.

Ok this isn't a gem, but I adore Jade, absolutely beautiful, i have one piece a cross that is the most stunning shade of green I have ever seen, so if I must pick a stone it has to be emerald...well it's green...
