I was a Filipino Citizen but this week I received my british passport.I am for Holiday in US by November for 16 days only. Thompson agency told me that all british passport issued after october 25, 2005 will need a US Visa. But when I phoned in US embassy to book myself for an interview, they told me that I don't need US visa anymore. All I need is just a waiver. Now I am confused what to do because I heard from a friend that there was once a Filipino with a british passport as well that traveled in US for holiday and when he arrived US airport, he was deported immediatedly in UK. Now I dont know what to do. I want to get a US visa to prevent this thing to happen to me but the US embassy won't allow me to have one because they said that I dont need a Visa anymore. Please answer my question. I am living in UK for 5 yrs and 8 months. Last August 8, 2006, I just attended an oath taking as a british Citizen here in wales,UK. And now I just had my british passport.

Go to the Embassy and ask for a travel waver to the US, that way, your right there with your British Passport and they will have to give you the right information, Telephone calls are too easily misunderstood. If you come to Nevada, please visit Reno, lots more to do up here and we have less random crime then Lost Wages. We also have a large Phillipeno population. You may find someone you knew and can steer you rightly. You can also go to any public library and using their computers, send me an email and I will guide you around. Being retired has its advantages.

Visa not required if traveling under the US Visa Waiver Program and certain conditions are met: your passport is endorsed "British Citizen", this is a machine-readable passport, containing a digital photographe or an integrated chip with information from a data page. You must arrive to US as a non-immigrant on a carrier that has signed agreement I-775 with US Immigration, sign a special I-94W form, have a return ticket and cannot protest any acts of deportation(!). Your total stay in the US cannot exceed 90 days. Please note: the immigration officer has the right to reject entry to US to anyone whom he considers inadmissible.

You fill out the green tourist visa waiver form on board the plane. Visas for tourists are not yet required but will be in the future
