"Whipped" as in your friends make loud, annoying sounds with their tongues when they're around you and do a violent gesture with their hands. You know what I mean.

(I'm asking this question because I asked about the choice of a baby or a career, and one woman said it was up to her husband to decide).

Yes, I'm in a couple. As a pair of bossy boots, I think we *both* have to "spare the rod" somewhat more than we're inclined to because we both know there would be ructions if we didn't. We also respect each other's independence.

Much as I do like to playfully "whip" from time to time, I'd say that, in all honesty, we probably both keep each other in check. Neither of us really wants to take a liberty and neither of us particularly wants to dish out a serious whipping. In fact, when one of us does, it feels like the world has fallen in. We both need the freedom to sound off but our barks are probably worse than our bites.

My hubby and I sit and talk about absolutely everything together, we never make a major decision with the others input first, were a partnership and that's how we want it to be, I can't understand how one side of a partnership can even think it is up to them to make all the decisions, why bother been together if you can't agree on anything and one of you always wants it there own way.

I am a newlywed, it's been 3 months since we got married. But we've been together for over 5 years and our relationship is equal, we don't try to control each other. I think if you try to control each other, someone is going to end up bitter. I'd rather be happy. After all, we only get one life to live, so I want to enjoy it.

Do you mean like who makes the decisions? I thought you meant some kind of sexual act at first!
