It couldn't hurt to try to find out as much as you can about the house and it's history. Try your local library and newspaper. Ask around to various neighbors. If your not comfortable, it may help to know why.......

I did recentlly watch a news bit about haunted homes going cheap on the market, and homes where people have been murdered goes pretty cheap as well. I would definately check into the history of the house. You never know if you might have a friendly ghost who won't mind you living there. I would also check out the history of the house in regards to repairs done to it and what not. Sounds like a really good deal to take. Good luck.

Look at the disclosure statement on this house. If it's not one of the questions, ask your agent to include it on the disclosure statement, and get the sellers to respond. Then ask the neighbors. Most important, when you caught movement out of the corner of your eye, what did you feel? Did you feel a type of "malovolence"? or just that something else was there? As long as you're okay with it, and you don't sense wariness or unease or some negative feeling, why not go with it? Most old houses have some type of something like you were describing living in it, but if there's no negative history, I wouldn't worry. Unless you're uncomfortable with ANYTHING of the supernatural being in the same home as you.

We had one old house in Georgia that had the movement you described in it on a daily basis. When our baby was just a few months old, he would watch the "ceiling fairies" and laugh, and follow them with his eyes. To get him to sleep, we'd have to put him in our spare bedroom. My teenagers got spooked watching him do it, which is why we named them "ceiling fairies" - to try to make light of it, but I never felt a sense of foreboding or danger. It was almost like we had company.

I guess the bottom line is that if this freaks you out, don't buy the house. If it doesn't, hey - you'll be getting a good deal.

I, and my wife, live in a hudred year old house, which people used to say was haunted. We have never had a problem or incident. I believe "haunting" is only for those who don't know any other explanation.

On the other hand.....Maybe it is the presence of my wife that drove away any "spirits"!!! I would be willing to let her come live with your family for a few years, to chase away any bad spirits. I could probably put her rent at somewhere around $20/week....enough for beer and chips!!!

Move in and enjoy the place!!! Leave the 'spooks' for the neighbors!!

Are you renting? Have you checked around to see what any other homes in the area are renting for?
How do you feel when you enter the home? Is it a pleasant feeling like "ah, I'm home" or is it scary? If you feel that the home is a happy place who cares if it is haunted...maybe it's just haunted by old owners who love their home.
Go with your gut feeling on this one, if you want to research do it...go to the local historical society...they would probably love to help

I'd ask you to do a little research. But, first of all research about the owner would be fine. Is he in some financial crisis? Maybe thats the reason he wants to dispose off it cheaply. Since, this would always be your dream home and a one time purchae, better count your steps before you take a leap.

Yes I am sure the house is haunted with cool spots. If you take photos of the different rooms you may even see orbs with are energy spots. The dead are amongst us for sure but they do seem to cling around their attachments for sure. They also can almost be seen by you as they are drawing from your energy to be seen. It takes alot of energy for a spirit to be fully seen. So they can come through lights, telephones computers tvs etc thats the easiest of ways. Listen to your intuition do you feel the spirits to be evil if so dont take it. But if you feel at peace they will not bother you but perhaps play the odd prank :-)

Probably someone believes that the house is haunted. But if you are not having problems with it, and love it, why not live there. My friends used to live in a house that had had a brutal murder there and people were constantly talking about how it was haunted. They never had a problem there.
