You need to concentrate - and just do your work! How do you expect to hear what the teacher is saying? What if there was a fire alarm? What if your I-Pod is stolen - are you going to blame the school? How many things are wrong with this question??? And as another answerer has pointed out - just look at the standard of your spelling - absolutely atrocious! You might not think it matters whilst you are texting and IMing - but out here in the real world, we need contracts to be well-written, e-mails to customers to reflect well on the company, letters from the solicitor to be legally exact... Or maybe you don't want a decent paying job.

The school internet is used for you, paid by your parents, to get an education. UNSW, has a bill of $27,000 because people download music, games, and anything that is not educational. Do you want your parents to pay more money on your education when you abuse the system?
Education is about putting your head face down and grinding the books so you do not end up on the streets. Be grateful for what you have. IF you work hard for your future, you get a good future in return. You need work on the basics of English so I strongly suggest that you focus more on your studies because life is not going to be all fun and games when you have someone trying to sue you for your mistakes in your professional job.

Tutor time isn't supposed to be spare time- it's generally supposed to be used for housekeeping, PSHE, assemblies and other things that are necessary. If they're not doing anything, they should give you something to do.
MP3 Players- some schools do let people use them, particularly in subjects such as Art where it can help you do your work. Where they won't let you use them is when the teacher is talking or in subjects where it wouldn't be a good idea. Ask your teachers about it.

Because you are there to learn. Not play.
If you listen to an Ipod during lessons, how will you hear what the teacher is telling you?
I suspect, having seen your grammar and spelling, you already have concentration problems in class. Do you really think you need more distractions?

you should really do work, but i know what you mean over tutor times, if there is nothing to do then... well you just sit there.
music in lessons... well, i have been allowed to but it was on the condition is wasnt loud and that it wasnt when the teacher was teaching. but its individual preferences. its like texting in lessons too, its just rude!!
i'm at uni and me and my friends have played command and conquer over a network during lectures. but we can get away with it.
think about it though, it may be ok on your own but when you get everyone doing it then it goes wrong, which is why you're not allowed to

Looking at what you've just typed, I'd suggest you spend your spare time brushing up on basic English.
Maybe that's the reason your teachers won't let you play games or listen to your ipod.

because while you MAY be sensible I dont think all of your peers are. I suggest that you put a well planned out argument, showing that you are a young adult and be prepared for a knock down, remember it may come from the head and some are set in their ways.

Although it may help you to concerntrate, a lot of the students would not and then what is the point of trying to teach them? School is also teaching you to be able to concerntrate without leisures as in a conference in a business you will not be able to listen to your iPod to concerntrate.

lol..well first i wouldnt say that to the teacher..
its all about control...and discipline. they like the power and some power does get into peoples heads, ...lol..but seriously it is probably because you wouldnt concentrate. i learn at home so i get to listen to music while i work.. and it helps me sometimes to calm down...but i wouldnt advise u to say to the teacher to let u do it.
