When they write to me they leave no address and simply sign it from Garry R D Kettle, personal banking services. On the website their is a customer service address, but I have been told that I should not use this. I am talking about the UK only here

Write to their customer relations department - Halifax plc
Customer Relations
P O Box 548
Leeds LS1 1WU

Also, give them a specific time period within which to respond. If you've written to the wrong department, they'll transfer the letter to the correct department. That department when responding, will write with a correct address to respond to.

Or better still, write to your branch - you should have the address on your statements - they will forward to the appropriate department on your behalf.

I'd recommend that you go into your local branch and speak to someone in person, failing that call their customer services number and get someone there to help you. If after that you get no joy then speak to the Financial Ombudsman.

Their guide to complaining and what happens if you get no joy is linked below.

I think you need to refer to the Financial Ambudsman and they can only be reached by Post. You need to contact your bank and they have to give you the address.
