She's 53 and I'm 49. She has lived by herself since she was about 32, when she got divorced. She was involved with a guy for 20 years but never lived together. She's had a strict religious upbringing, and I think that's the obstacle.

That's a pretty big obstacle.. if your religous views don't match and she is that religous, it may be time to revisit the whole idea.

By telling her that living together is not the right thing to do.....Females will always do opposite of what men say...so try this out...it works. I am a female myself and I know to what extent a female can go to prove a wrong thing right. But if you will tel her just the opposite of what you want...she will do what you want the very next minute...So all the best...try this out

If you have to convince her, it is probably not the right thing to do. Apparently she has her doubts and to force the issue could very likely make both of you miserable.

hmmmm, well thast something you cant fight it so easily...be so religious, she has her principles set since last 53 years and its not so easy to change them...i guess talk to her aging and see what she has to say or else you need to decide whether you can go on with her,cos if your thoughts dont match its better to reconsider!!

She's probably waiting for marriage, which is pretty difficult when you're religious beliefs differ. Tough situation.

you dont say how long you have been with your lady but but if she couldnt be convinced in a 20 year relationship prior to you it says alot about her conviction stop trying to convice her how about asking her to marry you if you really want her to live with you

ask her what is stopping her? may be as she got divorced once she is not willing to live with another just to prevent another heart break.

If she needs "convincing" then it's NOT the right thing to do.
