Singaporeans tend to be more 'scientifically' based. How can we turn things around, or at least put things on the fence?

Aren't we already attempting to head in that direction? I know it's a slow process...but we are definitely showing more emphasis on the value of aesthetics in schools and local theatre productions.

I am encouraged to see the producers of Forbidden City heading out to shopping centres to stage auditions for child performers. That's good publicity and it's a way of promoting the value of aesthetics in Singapore.

Unfortunately, we will still encounter much difficulty in getting the majority of Singaporeans to give up their preference for science and technology. We have to understand that people who excel in the Arts and Literature have innate talents in that area whereas science and technological skills can be acquired through education.

We basically are still entrapped in a society where we need to make pragmatic decisions. If a parent feels that his/her child can't excel in the arts, why bothter pursuing it as a career?

singaporeans who are keen are generally worried that they cannot feed themselves (in terms of career) if they chose arts & literature.

just like sportsmen in singapore.

you'll have to convince them that there is a job market if they do follow this path.
