Your employer can get annoyed, but there is little they can do about it. EOE (Equal Opportunity Employment) protects you from being discriminated against for being pregnant. If you have been at your job for over a year, then you would fall under FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) which allows you to take time off due to illness of you or a spouse, child birth and to take care of a dieing family member. Just remember, this allows you only 12 weeks so use them wisely, probably after the baby is born. To try to cut down your morning sickness try ginger, crackers, or dry toast, that should get you through the rough patches. Congratulations on the new baby!
(This is assuming you are in the US)

If you need time off your doctor needs to write you off sick really rather than just give you a note. Most employers wouldn't have a problem - but your must be an ar**.
Have you had a risk assessment done - this should be done as soon as you inform your employer you are pregnant and looks at think they can do to make it safer/easier for you. Including, sitting down when you wouldn't normally and working different shifts.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! - I am about 1 month behind you. Not actually sick but constantly feel it!

discriminating is against the law~ if your human resource is of no help then you need to take this to a higher level~ don't use the word "discrimination" that could lead to bigger problems (but in a quite and nice manner by uppers) I would stress the unfairness of the treatment and remind the company (depending on policy) that you do have a Dr note saying how bad the problem is ~
I feel so bad for you with the morning sickness my son was a night mare for me and it lasted the whole time I was put on meds to help control the problem ~ I wish the best and hope that you hopefully feeling better soon good luck :)

there is nothing much ur employer can du, especially if u are very important in your area of work. i will only advice you to help yourself, by taking some ginger tea which is best in realiving morring sickness, as i am now am 9 weeks and am feeling it just like u, what i normally du is to first take my herb medcine in the moring b4 leaving the house, and when i get to the office i make myselv a cup of hot ginger tea, i also took some sweet which contain ginger and lemon also.
i will not advise u to stay at home becus by that u are not helping urself, the morring sickness won't go on time.

Yes, he can get annoyed but not much he can do about it unless it is affecting your job performance. I worked in a restaurant at the time I was pregnant so the different smell A-1 steak sauce, ketchup and liqueur) would send me to the bathroom in a hurry.

Check out your rights under UK law. Keep a diary of what your employer has done. Check that you have worked there for the correct length of time to qualify.

just be aware that if you are having a lot of time off later in pregnancy, your employer can ask you to go on maternity leave early.
Hope you start feeling better soon!

morning sickness can't be helped, and there isn't much your employer can do. it usually goes after the 1st 12 weeks so it wont be a problem for long.
