This is in a 1990 Chevy G20 Full size conversion. The light just came on one day, and the wierd thing is that when I actually press the emergency brake on, the brake light gets brighter, release it, it dims slightly.

How do I check the brake fluid level censor?

Check the fluid level sensor to see if it's sticking. It's in the master cyl. If it's okey, there is a pressure imbalance in the system that causes the light to come on. The light is supposed to get brighter when the emergency brake is applied. Techs use this method to determine if the problem is in the brake system or if the emergency brake switch is bad.

on your brake pedal about 12 to 14 inches from the bottom up. you should see a switch mounted to your brade lever, replace it or adjust it til the light goes out.

if you have used the brake alot then the relay is starting to wear out which would cause this or you may have a more serious problem with your brakes.
