A curry stain is very difficult to remove even if you can wash the item. It is the turmeric in the curry that makes it so difficult to remove. It is the same thing that makes a mustard stain so difficult to remove. Most suggestions seem to involve alcohol, vinegar, dish soap, or an enzymatic (for protein based stains) cleaner.

These sites offer a number of suggestions for cleaning turmeric stains.

I hope this helps.

Have you tried Vanish - there's a foam spray one that took a curry stain off a rug for me. It did slighlty bleach the material that it was applied to but that shouldnt be a problem on a quilt.

Try putting cold water on the stained area then put salt on to draw the stain out,if that doesn`t work try a week solution of ammonia mixed with cold water. All the best.

Try soda water, just pour a little on the spot, and let it stand, put a dry cloth over it and hopefully the stain will lift off and onto the cloth. Good luck. Don't rub it, just let it lay on top and gently press it to lift off and come on the cloth. Try not to put soap, because it might set the stain.

Use a dry cleaning fluid like "Dab-it-off". Keep it away from the kids though. Its a bit naughty on the solvent abuse side!

a little vinegar mixed with water should do the trick or try rubbing on lemon juice and leave overnight then wash.

Good luck
