In two hours,
Train A has traveled: 5 x 2=10
Train B has traveled: 6 x 2=12
Total distance, D, between them after 2 hours would then be:

D=10 + 12 + 5 =27

After 2 hours,
distance covered by train A= 5*2 =10 miles
distance covered by train B=6*2=12 miles
So, increase in distance betwwen the trains=10+12=22 miles
(mark that they were moving APART)
Therefore, total distance between the 2 trains after 2 hours = 5+22 = 27 miles
