Factor the object number. Then factor the factors.
Then again until all factors are prime.
Prime means not divisible besides anything but themselves or 1 with no remainder.
For example take 20. It can be factored as 4 and 5.
But it's not prime factored since 4 can be factored as 2 and 2. Now the factors are 2,2 and 5 and since these
are all prime numers, 20 is now prime factored.

Prime Factorization

Is the process of dividing down composit numbers into smaller non-trivial divisors which when multiplied together equals the original integer.

Example

400/2 = 200

200/2 = 100

100/2 = 50

50 /2 = 25

25/5 = 5

5/5 = 1

The prime factors are 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5

Because 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5 = 400

Prime factorization is finding all the prime numbers which when multiplied together equal the number whose prime factorization is desired. For example the prime factorization of 90 is
90 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 5
A prime number is a positive integer that has only two positive integer divisors, 1 and itself. The first few prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17 and 19.

A useful tip for answering a prime factorization question on a multiple choice test is to start with the available answers and see which one is correct (instead of trying to calculate the prime factorization of the number they give you). To be correct, the product of the possible factors must be the number whose prime factorization is desired. Also, and each factor must be a prime number. So 90 = 3 x 3 x 10 would be a wrong answer because 10 is not a prime number.

Prime factorization is when you factor, then factor one of the factors, and again, and again, until none of the factors will factor any more.

For example, 840 is 15 x 56, but 15 is 5 x 3, and 56 is 4 x 14 but you have to keep going with those, too, until you end up with 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 x 7, that's the prime factorization. The others are factorizations, but not prime ones.

Consider the integer you want to factorise and check the last digit or two to see if it's divisable with a zero remainder by a known prime. Then divide like this over and over with primes until 1 is left. The divisors are the prime factors of the number.

These are numers that can be divisible by 1 and the number itself, e.g prime factor of 9 is 3.

Prime factorization is process of getting all possible prime numbers of a number such that when you multiply the primes you get that number.

Her is what I mean:
Let's say you want to prime factorize or factorize 12,
So you get 12 = 2x6 = 2x2x3,

Similarly, 30 = 2x15 = 2x3x5

So, prime factorization of 12 is 2x2x3 and that of 15 is 2x3x5

[Remember, 1 is not a prime number]

Additional help: That's the process how you get HCF, Highest common factor of two numbers. HCF of 12 and 15 is 2x3 = 6

Yes, I get what you mean. I will explaint to you what I know about Prime Factor:
Say we want to know the prime factors of 27, then we use Factor Tree:
27
^
3 9
^
3 3
So we say that 27 is
3 x 3 x 3
or simply 3^3
Do you get it?

That is reducing a number to a set of its factors, which are all prime numbers (those that are divisible only to themselves and the number one)
