So, is 0 an integer?

yes
Integers are the whole numbers, negative whole numbers, and zero. For example, 43434235, 28, 2, 0, -28, and -3030 are integers, but numbers like 1/2, 4.00032, 2.5, Pi, and -9.90 are not. We can say that an integer is in the set: {...3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,...} (the three dots mean you keep going in both directions.)

0 is an integer by definition. Mathematicians are agreed that all positive and negative whole numbers and zero are integers. Contrary to some answers, zero DOES have a vaule; that value is zero. It's not the same as a non-existent value.

There is debate on whether zero is a "natural" number. The natural numbers include the positive integers. Some mathematicians include zero, some do not.

Is Zero An Integer

Yes, most people are getting this right, that "integer" means all the numbers . . . -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, . . .

Mathematicians do have another word, not "integer", for just the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 . . . so maybe the questioner had heard of that and was confused.

Zero is not integer. The word integer reflects sense of completeness. Between left side and right side there is origin it means beginning, and it has “null” as value. Zero may have value in decimal systems or binaries but not as integer. So zero is neither integer, nor real number.

Negative numbers . . . ..-5 -4 -3 -2 -1

Whole numbers 0 1 2 3 4 5 . . . . .

Integers

Yes, I agree with the rest of the answerers. Integers are whole numbers, either postive or negative, and it include zero. By the time you learn about Sets in Mathematics (if you are a student), you will know that Positive Integer will be represented by Z+ and Negative Integer will be represented by Z-. They are both symbols for integers.

Any whole number is an integer, whether it has a positive or negative value. In the case of zero it is a whole number with no value.
