Wiring parallel will not hurt the stun gun in any way. But be sure the unit is running on 9 volts and not 18. If it has the batteries in it wired in series you will need to parallel wire the additionals in pairs to sustain the 18 volts needed to power it. Parallel wiring only adds available amperage and cannot hurt anything. It's the same as puting a larger battery in a car. Mine came w/ 650 amp and I put a 1100 amp in it and has not caused any prob in almost 10 yrs now. Just make sure you don't change the voltage.

Yea, a stun gun ain't gonna do it. It will just get taken an shoved where the sun don't shine. Id'e recomend Pepper Spray, it is more effective and gives you a distance advantage, plus you can hit a group target and incapcitate all of them for about 5 - 15 mins. You may not know it, but this stuff is harsh. makes you cough like crazy, hard to breath,, and burns the heck out of the eyes. Try the one pounder from FOX :http://www.selfdefenseproducts.com/pepper.htm
I got one at home, one in the car and a couple of smaller ones,, read what they say about stun guns vs pepper spray,, I got and air taser too, http://www.taser.org/airtaserkit.html , but my first response is the pepper spray,, the one pounder shoots about 15'! "It's good enough for me" C.
Sonic is worthless
Spray,, kick the S outa them, run
keep the air taser for if they by some miracle can chase after you.
And get an air taser,, gives you the most valuablr thing in a "Real" fight. Room to manuver and cut (that means run).
Fights are harsh. best bet is to avoid them, if possible.. if you can't, and want to get away,, the best bet is to allways look for a weapon the other guy might have,, I am assuming you are female, from the sound of the question, could be wrong, A weapon just cut,,but, No weapon,, come in swinging, 3 hard blows to the head or neck and cut. better,, spray to the face at about 5 feet, kick in the stomach, cut. keep the taser as back up. If you use these the other guy is gonna be out for BLOOD, so when you run,, run like hell. seriousy.
the pepper foam is pretty worthless
This fox stuff is supposed to be pretty good. best you can do is carry the best spray AND a taser.
and don't travel alone at night
i'm telling you, your best chance,, if attacted is Spray, kick, haul. that's it.

They would last longer but you need to make sure they all have the exact same voltage. If one is say 8 volts and the other 9.5 volts you could have problems.
The best answer is to AVOID a situation where you would need such a device. Also keep in mind once you bring out the stun gun it raises things to the next level. Pepper spray is also a good choice but common sense is best.
As for me I carry a compact 9mm semi-auto pistol.

In theory, using two batteries in parallel should provide a slighty longer life but not increase voltage or amperage. If in doubt find a very good ammeter and voltmeter and test the stun gun. As for the tear gas and flash grenades. Tear gas is a joke. It is actually very ineffective unless you can purchase the military version. CS Gas is much more effective as long as the target is not military trained. Flash grenades are very difficult to come by and would be useless in your situation since they would also blind and disorient you. I would recommend you get a few CS canisters and a taser (preferably the one with the easily reloadable prongs and charge). And to avoid those groups as much as possible.

as long as they were wired in parrallel, all you are doing is making a bigger 9v battery....so yes, it would last alot longer.
