would society just collapse? i just finished reading this book called Blindness by Jose Saramago about a disease which turns people blind and then they just see white. anyway what do you think?

you gotta read the book. anyway the govt quarantines the first blind people but this one woman pretends shes blind to go with her husband who is. then these people are quarantined in an abandoned mental asylum where lawlessness takes place, and the woman just describes everything she saw. like people would try to find the bathrooms but couldnt so they defecate all over the place, and everyones just blind and..its scary

At first, I was gonna say there would be more car accidents.
But then I thought about it. I figure the world would be ruled by the people who were already blind. At least for a generation.

i think the traffic jams would be terrible.
if all were blind civilization would end, we ate utterly dependent on sight and our entire society is based on everybody being able to see
hoe do you know where to plow, when to reap get the product ot market.....

there would be utter chaos! How would you get food, couldn't see to get it, truckers couldn't deliver it, farmers couln't mass produce it. Who would run the water supply to the millions who depend on it, how would you heat or cool your home who would operate the electric plants, medicines couldn't be made, I could go on and on and on. Total Chaos!!!!
