curing cancer -yes, but only if caught in the earliest stages. It can be cured through surgery (cutting it out) or by radiation.

aids- no way, but through the recent meds which treat the symptoms, many of the patients can live 10-20 years with the disease.

This is a very good question. I have become very sceptical about the medical field. Maybe if I understood the mechanics of curing diseases I would be more supportive of the scientists, researchers, lab techs, , doctors, and on, and on. What is the point of having these big telethons, and hospitals asking for contributions, and pledges for their prospective charities? It can't possibly take one hundred million dollars to research for the cause, and cure of diseases. Cancer has been killing people (many in my own family) for centuries, and their does'nt seem to be any headway being made. Now we've had Aids crushing the life out of people for at least twenty five years, and all the medical community can suggest is that the patient take medication which is so darn expensive for most that they end up dying anyway from lack of medical coverage, and enough money to afford the drugs. Don't get me wrong. I applaud doctors , and especially nurses, but this is only a small part of medicine. I think something is really wrong here, and that someone is not being completely honest with us. I do hope that before I am called to my rest someone will find the answer to all the questions that should have been answered long ago. It seems their is no solution as of 2006 of curing cancer, Aids, diabetes, hypertention, heart disease, strokes etc. so I guess we'll just have to not live with it, but die with it.

Cancer diversifies into innumerable types, many are curable if treated in their early stages, there is a suggestion that immunisation may soon be available to prevent cancer of the cervix for instance.
Concerning AIDS,as yet there is no cure, but in many advanced countries it can be treated and the sufferer gain a better quality of life.

This quesn deserves to be in philosophy section,..not biology.
The two are two seperate thing biologically,.. like apples and oranges,.. no not that maybe apples and tomatoes.

Cancer of many types is curable esp in early stages.

AIDS is incurable,.. in fact there are two diseases that when a person gets once the mortality is 100%,.... AIDS and Rabies

As of now we can just prolong someone's life with above diseases
