So the shop that is telling you that you need a tuneup is selling you a service that is not require YET for your vehicle, UNLESS your vehicle is running poorly, Then have it tested useing a BMW scantool and find out what is wrong with it.
As for your regular FLUID maintenance, If its time to change them , then by all means do and I strongly advise you to USE Synthetic Oils approved for BMW's
Not all synthetic Oils are Europen engine Approved.
Use either Mobil 1 Euorpean formula, or My choice, Amsoil European formula. Trust me there is a differance and if your vehicle is still under warranty, use the right fluids. Check your owners manual

change the motor oil, change the oil filter, change the spark plugs, the fuel filter, the air filter, flush the radiator, change the transmission fluid, check all your belts, and your valve cover gasket will need to be replaced.

will cost you about $300 in parts alone..but it sounds like you need it since your car has put on the miles.

do no longer go there! In what you point out as upkeep to be executed, you greater appropriate be searching for something a touch greater appropriate. Having owned a 535, I could say that they're a good motor vehicle, however the restore (upkeep) expenditures could be very extreme. Take care
