Juventina,
physical skill, mental skills, training, decision-making skill, good coaching... are few of the important factors for a good player.

Looks (obviously) has nothing to do with it! (lol)

After the 2006 World Cup, it is OBVIOUS that a good/great soccer player should be the OPPOSITE of the BIG LOSER (Zidane). Especially kids who want to become soccer players, they should completely be the opposite of that idiot (as well as for the other idiot Materazzi)

Of course the physical and mental skills, keep on training to keep his fittness, having confiedence in himself it is good to take decisions inside the play ground.
Obeying the rules , being able to take the responsibility of his job and of corse of the whole team.
and most important staying away from troubles.

Practice a lot, so you can get better and a tip is to always think about what to do for example: Should I pass? , Should I defend that person?, Do I have a opportunity to get through that defence and score? and Should I use more skills to stop my opponent from stealing it from me or am I already using enough skills to keep the ball away from that person?

commitment to train , agility / balance / good teamwork. All relative to positions so left and right backs need lots of pace and high fitness levels ditto for left and right midfielders. Some strikers have pace some have strength but both need balance.
