The advantages of the pill?

Hello. I'm 15 and I was wondering about the pill. Apart from it making me less likely to fall pregnant what are the other advantages? Thankyou

Oh yeah, and disadvantages too. thanx.

Some of the advantages of the pill are, it:

* doesn’t interrupt sex
* usually makes your bleeds regular, lighter and less painful
* may help with pre-menstrual symptoms
* reduces the risk of cancer of the ovary, womb and colon
* may protect against pelvic inflammatory disease
* may reduce the risk of fibroids, ovarian cysts and breast disease that is not cancer.

cons:
- you may gain weight, but probably only 5 pounds, maybe not even, and you can lose it.
- slight increase in chance of breast cancer, but the new low-dose ones really minimize that
- it is dangerous to be on the pill if you are a smoker. the combo of the two can cause blood clots

let us start with the disadvantages
yoiu could have trouble with spotting.
depending on the mix there is a slight rise in likelyhod of breast cancer and heart disease, depending upon whose papers you believe.
the biggest problem for you is it doesn't protect against std's, and you youngsters seem to believe that planning ahead is somehow wrong.
that is neither corect or safe.
when i was your age a shot would cure the worst of things, now the wrong shot could kill you.
safe sex is intelligent sex and any male who won;t wear a condom, isn't worth your while.
now the lecture is over.
the advantages. sexual freedom unknown to women up until recently. regular periods of a lesser intensity (usually), and perhaps a lessening of cramps. i haven't seen anything recently to verify an earlier report i saw.
sex is fun, enjoyable, and healthy.
if you believe you are ready for sex, it is none of my business to saay yay or nay, but i ask you to be considerate of clumsy males, and clueless ones. we all had to learn, and some of us learn much slower than others.

It decreases the chances of getting ovarian and uterine cancer its regulates the periods
BUT unles your really lucky most of them MAKE you put on WEIGHT
Mind you not of the baby variety though
