Think nothing.
It has to do with the fact that we only have two (2) points of stability instead of four (4). We must continuously correct our balance with only two (2) legs. It's an engineering fact.
You can easily see this stability in action... take an ordinary table with 4 legs and try to balance it on 2.... then take that table and see if it stabilizes on 4?
It's as simple as that.

The animal's four feet define a quadrilateral, the centroid of which is usually directly beneath their center of mass. All our two feet can form is a line, so we are stable only when our center of mass is above the line and between our feet.
A three-legged animal has nearly the same stability problem as we do.It's center of mass usually Lies on the line connecting the "off quarters". If it leans toward its third leg it's OK, but if it leans toward the missing leg without hopping, it will fall.

Draw a string on the ground encompassing all feet. As long as the center of gravity is above the surface within the string, the animal will not topple. The larger the area of that surface, the more choices of where to place that center of gravity and still not topple. If the human starts leaning forward or backward, it must use muscles to move its center of gravity before it wanders outside the string and falls.

it is difficult to say actually. in fact 3 legs would be ideal since 3 points make up a plane. that is why a tripod is widely used especially for outdoors applications. on the other hand 4 legs perform more movements and have more power.
my personal verdict is that inb some cases we are more stable than 4 legged animals while in others we are not. in addition to, how do you visualize it. is the factor "harder to fall" the most important, or " stand rigidly".

Because horses live in stables and they have four legs. We are less likely to live in stables because we have two arms to make nice comfortable houses with.

It is because our center of gravity are very high compared to four laged animals, the stability increases with the decrease of disatance from the ground.
