I'm a real novice with the internet. I.ve recently set up an email address on msn explorer. When I try to sign in a messege keeps coming up saying: "This is not the genuine microsoft." Is anyone else getting this message or does anyone else know what I can do because it's stopping me getting emails? Thanks!

It means that your copy of microsoft windows is not genuine (DUH!). On an average license, You can only use it once on a single computer. You need a new license on every new computer that you have. Not genuine means that It surpasses the amount of times the license can be used and you need to purchase a new one. Or your serial is a made up serial and your copy is running illegaly.

Either way, Purchase a license of windows.

Yep, exactly same dude, but dont use msn, use yahoo,just had new mother board installed & bits 6mths ago ( £200), now this, not pleased at all, geezer who done it has moved to spain, didn,t know there was such an issue as "gen win" Cant seem to get round it I,m afraid, and I know a few people, I also think its affecting my Ipod + Itunes, Ipod just been repaired and Itunes(eventually)re-installed but only starts in safe mode, which is no good, scared to connect pod to it, a genuine disc seems to be in the region of £90, which I think is a bit steep considering how old it is, and the fact theres a new system coming early next year,got loads of info on my computer so buying today removable hard drive,and mates got "engineers copy" all sounds like more grief, unless someone else out there knows a better way; good luck, will keep you posted as to anything, regards;

MSN sucks to begin with! Get a yahoo mail account or setup the one your provider has given you if its not MSN!

If that's been acceptable put in, try to be in a position to uninstall it utilising the "Uninstall software" software contained in the administration Panel (discovered contained in the initiating Menu). in basic terms go with this methodology(s) you want to get rid of from the list, and click "Uninstall" and stick with the wizard (if proper).

It means your version of windows does not have a licence. The copy you are using is illegal. You will need to buy windows from somewhere. You can try
