For the past week or so, I have been experiencing a bit more back pain than usual, but mostly, a grabbing pain in my right kidney. Now I have had kidney stones twice in my life and usually back pain is an indicator, but the difference is that, this time, I have had a grabbing pain in my right kidney that's off and on, but seems to be getting increasingly worse, so I tend to doubt that it's stones. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks!!

Any of these answers could be correct, but you need to see a doctor to correctly diagnose this. Internal organs are innervated differently than the muscluloskeletal system in that the nerve fibers that send pain to the brain first go to regional ganglion, then to the spine and then to the brain. If you cut an arm or leg, the pain travels a more direct path and you can tell where the pain is coming from. Therefore your pain could be musculoskeletal (your back), or could be from any internal organ that is innervated through the celiac ganglion including kidneys, ureters, intestines, etc, etc... which could all refer pain like you described.

It could possibly be a sciatic nerve pinching. I know they can be very painful. They are located on your sides. I have had them hurt so badly that I couldn't stand to walk.

Or it could just be a bad kidney infection. Best advice go see a doctor and see if they can figure it out.

Could be cystitis. You fail to mention increased urine output and pelvic tenderness? Cystitis is hard to diagnose because it seems like other diseases. Once you got it it does not go away. There are treatments but no cures. It also goes by honeymoonitis

I'm not sure but your pain could be emanating from your kidney.

I don't know personally, but you've certainly come to the right place with a question concerning any of your vital organs.

Seriously, you're obviously drunk. The booze is both screwing up your kidneys and causing you to seek vital medical advice from a bunch of people as stupid as yourself.

You need to go to a doctor...NOW! You can not troubleshoot this, you can be close to having your kidneys fail! Please go to the doctor.
