You should certainly return them immediately & without any fuss if they ask for them. Don't think you would be punished for an innocent oversight. Does depend upon how the company operates though. If they are good at record keeing with good attention detail then they are most likley to spot it. You have no right to hold on to them in lieu of payrise!

Keep them until they ask for them back.
But if asked, don't say you kept them'as payment in lieu for a payrise I didnt receive this year'
Just say no one asked so you thought that's how it works.

hummmmm. If you have not left the building yet, you might be in for a shock at close of business, that's most likely the time they will ask for their things back...but if they don't just hang on to the stuff, BUT be aware those items belong to the company and can ask for them back at any stage...the only way to get passed that is if they can no longer contact you via mail or phone.

What are you going to do with a Blackberry connected to a corporate account that will be deleted the day after you leave. It's not like you're going to be able to make it receive your personal emails instead.

If you keep them, an exaggerated amount will be deducted from your final pay check.
Your company knows you have them, there is always a record of who was given laptops/blackberrys/coporate cards/etc. make sure you give them to someone credible (preferably your manager) before you leave so that you are not charged.
Best Wishes!

Yes, do the right thing - you're worth more than that. You never know where you'll meet these people again so why spoil your good name for the sake of a laptop and blackberry?

they could take out an injuction against you to have the property & files on it returned. Happened here.

Won't get a look in for a new job as they WILL consider you a thief. Do you want your name in the courts records ? I know I wouldn't.

Return. If they find out later and you need to use them for a reference in a new job they could give you a very bad reference. And if they don't get it back they could ask you to pay for them at a later stage.

well, if you keep them, there is the possibilty of being charged with theft, and also the possibilty that they will hold your paycheck etc. until you return them. just something to think about. but i would clear any and all personal info from them, even tho they will be able to pull up the info anyway, it willl just make it a bit more difficult to do.

Return them otherwise it is stealing, If you need to steal them then you must be on a crap wage. My advice to you is get a decent paid job this will make you feel a better person and also stop you being a thief.

If you do steal them would you be selling them? if so could I have first refusal.
