Robert Mugabe, the president of the country is a self professed Marxist, but the country as a whole is not a communist country per say, though it may very well be heading that direction... Mugabe's government is very socialist however.
Personally, I think his is one of the worst, if not THE worst regimes in all of Africa. What his government has done to the people of that country is awful. Famine and mass starvation across the country, all because he destroyed Zimbabwe's extremely successful agricultural sector by evicting or killing the white farmers who ran it. Sad.
Did you know they currently have over 1000% inflation PER MONTH? That's what's called hyper inflation. You get paid and you spend all your money immediately, because a day later, it's worth half of what it was when you got paid.

Not officially. Zimbabwe is the former Rhodesia, and has had some socialist policies, and probably a few Marxist leaders.
They are not calling themselves communist, however, and it's hard to say one way or the other whether they would be likely to turn to communism at any point.

It has Soviet communist structures with Zanu PF members on the state payroll. Mugabe refers to the revolution just like the old USSR leaders. I would rather say Zimbabwe is a kleptocracy than a communist country.

Zimbabwe is the worst country in the world right now. I am sorry you were born there and feel some loyalty like some frat boy to his old football team but facts are facts. They are killing people left and right.
In the false name of equality they confiscated farms,With the farmers gone they blame the West. The problem is the farmers have gone to Nigeria, in exchange for training indigenous farmers they have been granted land.
The once most prosperous country in Africa is now starving. Instead of xenophobia about your old stomping ground, you should stand up for your former countryman and say enough to tyranny.
