I think the 'ideal' may lie somewhere in between these parameters. But ultimately, it's down to you. If you feel you are lacking in energy and generally unfit, then you may wish to trim down slightly until you feel better. However, that's not to say skinny is better. You could feel just as bad with not enough weight/energy. It's all about a balance.
It also depends on how much muscle you have. One of my mum's friends would be classified as 'obese' on a height/weight ratio calculator, however, her percentage body fat is under what it should be for her height, and she is a fitness instructor.
In short, you know yourself when you don't feel your best in clothes, you're maybe a little heavier/lighter than you should be, and whether or not you should be able to run further before gasping for breath. It's more about you yourself, rather than compiling your vital statistics.

Hi Jules nice day!
My advice is whilst your weight is not excessive at the moment unless you control it now the weight will get out of hand. And that is when the problems begin health wise. I have no doubt that you look good but do you honestly feel fit and well?
Take the opportunity to do some exercises twice a week, and all the running around you do at home should be enough to keep that weight under control (of course a sensible diet helps as well).
Do not let people persuade you that if you are happy with the your weight then that's okay, because it's not. As you get older you may find that you get out of breath, develop high blood pressure and numerous other conditions that may attributed to being overweight.
I know all this as I let my weight get out of my control not excessively so because I am too vain to let that happen. But I piled on enough weight to make me feel uncomfortable and unfit. It is true that I am on medication for a condition that I have and that is the cause of some of weight gain, but I am fooling myself if I think that this is the main cause. So it's the treadmill and walking for me these days.
So it's down to you fatter or thinner..your choice.
Good luck Jules

You're not that tall- i appreciate you have kids but in the long run- you may find that your body can't carry that much around forever. You need to consider losing just a little off, you don't have to diet so much but having cardio excercises would be a good idea if you're not already doing them.
Just an observation- unless you're a celebrity or your metabolism is very higher naturally, you will never revert back to what size you were before you had the kids. But that would depend on how much people are prepared to torture themselves.

As we get older our body shape and size changes and having children add to this. Personally I wouldn't say your current size should be an issue. The main thing is that you keep healthy, eat sensibly and are able to be a good Mum and achieve those things in life that are important to you.
If you were unwell, and were advised by a Dr. or whoever that your weight/size was causing some challenges then it would be sensible to heed their counsel.
In the meantime - be happy and don't worry. Those who care about you care for who you are.

You sound gorgeous to me. I much prefer a woman with something about her. I can't stand the stick thin image of people like Victoria Beckham - she looks really unhealthy. I think Fern Britten is so sexy - so much to enjoy! My advice would be, if you got it, flaunt it. If you're fit and healthy, enjoy yourself - I know for sure men prefer a solid woman in the end - it's a sign that you know how to enjoy life and you're strong.

What is best for you, is how you feel most comfortable. Size means nothing. If you're happy, healthy and don't feel like crying everytime you catch sight of yourself in the mirror - you're perfect.
