It was good. I give it 6 out of 10. The effects were okay but not great. Then again, I much prefer the GGI sharks opposed to the very fake animatronic shark from the jaws movies. The actors were descent. Samuel L. Jackson wasn't in the movie very long, though. If you've seen the movie "The Punisher" (2003), you'll notice Thomas Jane, sporting his natural blonde hair, in "Deep Blue Sea". LL Cool J was entertaining.
All in all, the movie was a decent action/adventure movie. I suppose you could classify it as a thriller or suspense; not enough blood and gore to be a horror movie. It's a good rental.
In my opinion, to make this kind of movie good, you need to be emotionally invested in the characters. However, in this movie, you don't care who lives or who dies. The movie is good for a couple cheap laughs and possibly some scary moments, depending on your temperament. It's the kind of movie you should watch if you've got no where to go.

It's OK - if you can forgive the premise genetically engineered sharks (Why? WHY?). Ice Cube does better than I thought he would as an actor, but then again this IS an action film, not Citizen Kane. The bit where the guy falls down and hits his head in that corridor, though, is, as we say in Glasgow "a sair yin" (That's "a sore one"!). 3 years or so after seeing the film, I can still hear the noise his head made now I think about it - yech!

It was allright, it's pretty just one of your run of the mill action movies, nothing too fancy, no real character developement or interesting dialogue. The special effects are pretty good and not too over the top; there is a pretty cool shark that eats almost everyone. And the main character in the movie is pretty hot!

Jaws nonetheless creeps into my ideas while im swimming in deep water, deep blue became just to available. i assume if i ever discover myself in a extreme tech examine facility below water then yea i might get scared. yet greater many times then no longer im merely swimming at a sea coast thinking there's a great *** shark checking me out thinking approximately eating me. So jaws gets my vote
