Simon Jones has a serious knee problem and will not play again until the 2007 season.
Michael Vaughan also has a serious knee problem - he is very unlikley to play again until 2007, and there is a chance he will have to retire.
Ashley Giles injured his hip and then had a hernia. There is hope that he will be able to go on the Ashes tour this winter.
Steve Harmison has a much less serious back problem and is basically just being rested as a precaution. He will be going to Australia.
Geraint Jones broke a finger, but was dropped as his batting had deteriorated - he will almost certainly go on the Ashes tour.
Andrew Flintoff has floating bone fragments in his ankle. He may well play in the ICC tournament in India next month, though probably as a specialist batsman. The hope is that he will be fit enough to bowl in time for the Ashes.
James Anderson suffered a stress fracture of the back. He is more of a fringe player and may not go to Australia, with Stuart Broad potentially taking his place.
