You can use a USB cable and the software from Nokia to download your contacts into a computer. If you have another SIM card you can copy all the numbers from the old SIM into you phone's memory; then turn off you phone, insert the new SIM and copy the numbers placed in the phone's memory on to the new SIM.

It would be easier to put the SIM that you have to hand over into a different phone (if you have another one) and copy the contacts to that one.

with a usb cable and the software, you can back up everything on your nokia phone. The programme will make a copy of the numbers and calendar entries so that you can transfer this onto another nokia phone using the same software. If you don't have a usb cable or bluetooth on the phone and computer, best just to transfer it all onto the sim card if you have your replacement phone with you.

Not sure where you'll access one, but I recently bought a new cordless for the house and it has a sim card reader in it that read and automatically transferred the phonebook from my mobile onto house phone.

I remember some mobile shops have a facility for storing numbers incase of loss, maybe you could use one of those (probably have to buy a phone off them though!

I went to a mobile phone shop last week, as my phone packed up, I got it repaired and then immediately asked the guys behind the counter to put my videos, pictures and numbers on a CD for me, which they did. It cost £10.00. Dont go to places like the car phone warehouse, etc, I went to one of these little places which sell and repair phones cheaply in Victoria station. The Phone Doctor i think they are called. Hope this helps
