Because this is now planet "Fluff" not planet Earth. We are in the clouds all fluffy. We see others that are fluffier and emulate their fluffiness. I am a marshmallow at heart. Life is better when humans aspire to fluffiness. California is the capital of Fluff. Their world is better fluffed up. Who wants to see starving children in the desert suckling off of their mother's dried up breast? We want to see Paris Hilton starving and being carted away for chasing her hunger with a margarita. Very humble diet for the mega rich actually.

Because they are special in some way, so people like to raise them up. There are doctors and nurses who deserve it too but they don't have the publicity agents.
