At least hes had the balls to do it unlike sven. He should have been dropped a long time ago, hes just a money spinner to the sport and a pretty boy whos totally overrated. Its about time someone with the guts to tell the players and the country what everyone is thinking instead of pussyfooting around like politicians do

david beckham is a overrated, publicity-seeking, money-grabber, who isn't as good as he thinks it is. as i said before previously, he is a crap footballer who has absolutely no footballing skills to show for, whatsoever. doesn't run at players, dribble, try flicks and all that. so yes i agree with you that steve mcclaren had the guts to get rid of him. he was only in the team because of his fame and celebrity, i mean, he was and is a celebrity- whilst the rest were just footballers. i utterly despise that guy with a loathing. i dont see what a lot of women find attractive about him- he is only using his looks to get to where he is, and that's wrong. sven was a *****; he for one just absolutely adores beckham so much, he thinks he is one of world's greatest players. do me a favour. besides, i believed that when he was in charge, he and beckham would meet together at some place and the two agreed that he (as in beckham) would not be dropped. he was the one that got in the way of the england team becoming successful. i'm glad that steve mcclaren has put his foot down and realised what a farce the whole beckham PR sideshow is by getting rid of that fool. hopefully, you and i would never have to endure another appearence of this fancy dan, any more.

If David Beckham had been dropped a long time ago as you suggest, England would not have qualified for the last Euro or for the last World Cups. Remember, it was his three goals that ensured our qualification. What we should be discussing, is yes England have kept a clean sheet under McClaren (who is just a mouthpiece for Terry Venebles), but what credible teams have we played so far. Bring on Portugal, Italy, France, Spain, Holland, Argentina, Brazil....and lets see how good our team are then.

When you see Beckham playing, you should forget all the money and the commercials....

Like it or not..he is a great player.. but some of you are too blinded by the money he has to see that

Beckham has had his time in the limelight, now its time for someone else to shine

Good for England in his prime but far outlived his uses. Playing Bekham resulted in Gerrard and Lampard being restricted to the same position. This was bad for the team but now has been sorted due to bekhams ommitence. Yes, it is good that he has been dropped.

makes sense to have a fresh start. However he can still make an impact as a player - maybe one day he'll get recalled.
