up to what age can your parents carry you on medical insurance

For most insurance policies, but not all, the child can stay on the parents plan until the child is 19 or has graduated from high school. For many plans, if the child continues to be a full-time student, they can be carried on the parent's policy until age 24. Full-time college student is defined as enrolled in 12 credit hours a semester.

If the parents change from family plan to a single plan covering only the parent, or once the child ages out of the insurance policy, it is possible that the child might be entitled to COBRA coverage. This depends upon how long the child has been covered under the parent's policy.

24 if the adult child is a student. Otherwise I think it's legal age whether that's 18 or 21 in your state.
