This is a hard one to answer, OK I suppose I would have to take my foot off his head.

Talk is cheap especially "human rights" talk. Not considering the factors involved, for example, you could drown with him. He could potentially harm (push you in) or sexually abuse you once he was out of the water. You think this guy wants to go to jail? After that, he'll go on raping other children as soon as he's free. Child rapist, is not the best thing to have on your resume; I don't care where you're applying. What makes you think he'll change his ways?
Would you like to be on the 10 o'clock news. "So and so rescued a child rapist from drowning this morning." Sure, you might think it's the best move; I'm sure it might be a morally correct one but your neighbors and peers might not agree. You're potentially risking your welfare and your family's welfare.
Let him drown. Save a kid in Africa instead. You'll be glad you made the decision.

No, because anyone that could do that to a child doesn't deserve to live. To take a childs innocence like that is horrible. Let them drown. Only thing that would make it better is if his death was by some big burly man who rapes him. Eye for an eye.

I would hold him up... untill some hungry creature came along... lets say a shark or alligator... or better yet a school of pirhana. So i guess i would save him from drowning...

i certainly will not...that would be stooping to his level and i am much better...whatever it is, let the judiciary system decide....i would save him on the ground of human rights - the rights to live and rights to a trial. child rapist or not, i do not want to be a killer... we have enough judges, lawyers and police (eve politicians) who are killers in their own right.

The Bible teaches us to care for everyone and always turn the other cheek. So, if I was the only person around, I'll have to say I'd help him and wish this teaches him a lesson.

yes, but with the condition, that he had to either end up in jail or just end up his life, let him choose his final destination at the moment of drowning.

well I'd toy with him a bit first, start pulling then lose my grip-whoops, I'm sorry. Then, when I had him good and wore out, I'd drag him off to the pit.
