Its a very sad occasion indeed....i had much more respect for Peter Brock and his Family then i ever will for that ridiculous Irwin bloke......did anyone happen to notice by the way that one of Australia's most prolific and well known authors also died the same day as Steve Irwin, and he hardly rated a mention.....now is that fair, respectful or dignified....? I think not. It was Colin Theile - for those of you that have any idea of who he was - he wrote over 100 books, was a university professor and taught thousands of people how to read and write, there is not one high school student in Australia that would not have picked up on of his books at some point......yet very few people have any idea as to who he was.....its a sad occasion indeed.

Both Peter Brock and Steve Irwin died doing what they loved! If you have to go then at least they went doing the thing they were most passionate about. Reminds me of that saying of not going to your death looking all pristine and perfect, but sliding in with a drink and one hand yelling woooooooo hooooooooooooo what a ride!

hard to believe that we have lost 2 great men within the one week.
Brockie was a v8 champion and a very recognised celebrity in his own right
But i must admit that his death has not affected me as strongly as the death of his family.
My condolences to his family
