Yes, we must teach Indian classical music in schools. We have the richest tradition of melodious music; an entire breed in itself.

The good news is people are already into Indian Music in schools; most small kids in India do get acquainted into classical music at an early age; a far cry from the times when I was a school-kid 10 years ago, when it wasn't so common.

well, i think so that it should be.. i mean by teaching only one period it doesn't mean much ,it does not waste time
& students become fresh (provided teachers are nice,)does it?? & that too till 7th, only ??After that it can be optional

because we have some precious music & tradition which has been forgotten day by day so atleast students should know that India too had it's own music which was more precious(& better, i also do like western music but still) then western music...

NO. It is a meaningless waste of time. It would be far more constructive to teach something of use, rather than an appreciation of arts....those can be learned after you have a paying job.

It need not be a compusory subject. This can rather be an optional subject.
