For people living east of the Hudson, NYU would be the best bet...For people living west of the Hudson, Berkeley would be the best. NYU has a primarily local or city-wide reputation, while Berkeley has a world-wide reputation. Berkeley is also on the west coast, in California, near San Francisco. Need I say more?

Most school's prestige isn't built on their undergraduate programs, and I don't know of any generally respected rankings which look at all undergraduate programs alone. If you look at the latest U.S. News rankings (which of course have inherent problems), Berkeley ranks #21 and NYU #34, but that includes the entire university, and not just the undergraduate program.

large faculties, congratulations! Off the real of my head, i imagine Berkeley is in basic terms quite the most prestigious of the three. they are all fairly prestigious, although that's my impact that Berkeley in basic terms quite edges out the others. For medicine i imagine of UCLA first, yet that's in basic terms me. yet then you really want to invite what kind of city/surroundings you go with. Berkeley is in a laid again (bohemian) component of SF; UCLA is amazingly lively, present day and preppy; NYU takes you to the east coast. in case you nevertheless can not make sure, list all of your criteria, make a chart, and rank each and every thing from a million-10. See what comes out on real, it is going to educate you what you quite choose.

Why does it matter??? Berkeley is probably less expensive, since it's a public school...

I dunno, but I'd rather live in Berkeley than NYC.
