My sister went in for a c-section at 1am this morning....how long do they last...I am waiting her in agony to hear the news.

Obviously as people have stated in thier answers it varies from person to person and dependant on any issues the surgery team face, however as a rule of thumb, approximatly 40 mins although by the time u get out and get settled back intot he ward ur talking bout over an hour......hope this helps :)

THe actual procedure is about 30 minutes. But then there is recovery. She will feel pretty out of it. Keep in mind that this is major abdominal surgery.

I think it depends on the person... if there were any complications, etc and then there is the recovery room... I was in there for at least an hour until I could move my legs again....

As long as the doctor wants. Ask him/her, if they get paid by the hour, or piece work (like in a factory).
