I asked a question earlier in the year about whether the Swede could drop Peter Crouch given that he was scoring regularly for England. For my troubles I was subject to a lot of abuse and accusations of favouratism because I am Red. Now I will pose the same question. Would the England manager drop Crouch in favour of Rooney or Owen given that he has now scored 11 goals in his last eleven appearences for England? And for all you Rooney supporters out there just take a close look at your messiahs disciplinary record and his more than suspect temperement. As I write it is reported that he has attacked someone in a Manchester Restaurant. Will he now be subject to a charge of assault? And before you start talking about provocation and defending his ladies good name I would remind you that it is actually still illegal to physically assault someone in this country whether provoked or not.

Crouch is doing too well to be dropped.

While it is questionable he can perform against the best defenders in the world, I think the champions league will give him an opportunity to learn and improve.

Rooney will get back into the team no problem, though - I think Owen might struggle if Crouch can reach 20 england goals by the end of the season (I realise that's a big ask, but it is feasible).

It would be a good move to leave Rooney on the bench next time. Firstly, it would show Rooney that he isn't an automatic choice for England, and that if he gets suspended again, he won't automatically walk back into the side. And we've seen with Beckham what happens to automatic selections - they get lazy. Secondly, where is the incentive for players like Johnson or Defoe etc to play well when they know that even if they score a hatful, they'll be out next time Rooney is available. The same applies to Michael Owen who appears to be an automatic choice when fit.

We have been speaking approximately this in the present day at artwork, i think of Erikson might drop Crouch if Rooney confirmed good form if he gets a run around for 30 minutes in any of the gang suits. the explanation why all human beings disregards Crouch because of the fact he doesnt precisely get rid of darkness from the countries imaginations of what would desire to be if we performed Brazil with him. With Rooney enjoying, you comprehend we've what it takes to triumph over Brazil, he's that good. Our Midfield and protection can snuff out Ronaldinho and co nicely, yet you have chose an skills like Rooney on the sphere no longer in basic terms for the followers yet to scare the Brazilians everytime he has the ball.

Not really, 11 goals in the last 10 games is too good a record to drop him for. He actually brings more to the team other than scoring goals.

I dont think he will drop him, but he will keep him as a backup. He usually scores against bad teams, not when it really counts. Rooney and Owen are clearly the starting strikers for England. Also, he seems to be building towards the future, meaning he will want to give young players like Defoe, Bent, and Walcott a chance.

If Crouch keeps playing the way that he is then i don't think McClaren will drop him. He has improved so much over the last year and he is an asset to our team at the moment.

McClaren proved that he goes with what works by dropping David Beckham. I think if he can do that he can do anything.

When Rooney is back from suspension, it his him and one other up front. Will the other be Crouch that is the question. Personally I do not think so. The reason being, because I don't think he will be playing regularly for Liverpool, Rafas first choice strike force when everyone is available will be Kuyt and Bellamy. You can't be first choice for you country if you are not first choice for your club.

If being bad was a vice ..Maradonna wouldn't have been a God..!!

Tyson was the baddest man..... when he was a man ...He was a God...

Crouch is a lesser vice bearer...then why drop him for he is scoring and the only virtue a striker ensembles is the number of times he disturbs the netting at he right place in 90 minutes...He is on the turf...

rooney is going to end up like gazza, he was treated as an idol too young, arsene wenger has the right idea by keeping his young brilliant players grounded, mclaren should keep crouch in the squad, to my knowledge he has never been red carded, has a good temprement and can score goals!

i think he should not start against the next few group opponents - give Bent a chance to make an impact. He's definitely of value to the squad, but I think Bent and Rooney will be a class act.
