I think outside of the United States, it generally understood that American foreign policy is a contradiction in terms. We say one thing but we do another. Like we talk about peace, but we are the biggest arms seller in the world. The talk about coalitions, but we are the most go it alone country in the world. We talk about the free flow of ideas, but we use propaganda to distort issues all the time. We talk about freedom, but we use it to hurt others. Just what is it we really believe in?

Brad, you're an idiot. How is it cowardly for Canadians to say no to the American government when they wanted us to join them in Iraq? Don't be bitter because your government couldn't bully us into doing something we didn't agree with.
I think there's a lot wrong with the US foreign policy and I believe it's that which has brought America such problems. I'm sure it's not just Canada that agrees there's a lot wrong with the foreign policy of the US. I wish the American people had more control over their government since the majority of you seem a lot more intelligent than the people you gave power to.
Fathead...I understand that you probably think Canadians are uneducated in the ways of the American government. However we watch your news programs and have studied your history. A lot of us are very knowledgeable in how your government works. I'm sure there's quite a few of us that know more than you.

I can't answer for the government, since the US government has ceased to be responsive to the the American people, but I believe that US foreign policy has become clumsy, inflexible and snagged down in bureaucracy. We accomplish very little because we are unwilling to listen to those that disagree with us and fail to get good intelligence operations into countries that are our enemies. I believe for example, that we have a great deal of common interest with Russia and China on the subject of Muslim extremism, yet we fail to dialogue with them about such things. Our government is short sighted, due to the immense pressure exerted by corporate and trade organizations to promote their agendas over the national security of the country. Making a quick profit by military adventurism and brute diplomacy is the norm now, instead of steady and consistant pressure using all the resources at our country's disposal.

I thought the terrorists were responsible for 9/11. How many countries has Canada attacked over foreign policy? Maybe there are policies issues but the last I knew you don't settle them by running jets full of innocent men women and children into building full of more innocent people.

No. Absolutely not. It's just a way for the cowards in Canada to stick their heads in the sand and pretend that Islamic Fundamentalism is nonexistent.
9/11 was a cowardly, unprovoked attack on American values to perpetuate a violent religious agenda.
fifa 575 - who's the idiot? You're the one who believes the US government was complicit in 9/11.
And guaranteed, when you cowards in Canada need a hand, you'll come grovelling at the feet of the USA.
Just like the rest of the world.

Ann Coulter wants to Bomb Canada and still claims they fought Korea and Vietnam!!
Of course our foreign policy has a lot to do with it!!
You screw people, try and steal their land, put people in power like Castro and Hussein, Give money and training to our CIA operative Osama bin Laden, Weapons, especially stingers, and try to tell the world how to live, people who are extremist in their views are going to react! That doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out!!
How would we react if someone did that to us?

911 was not a singular terror event in the world, the Canadian claim that it was the fault of US foreign policy is like a claim that a leopard kills Gazelles because they strut in the field and eat the grass in front of the leopard.

No, I believe your characterization of Canadians is as inaccurate as any other stereotype.
If we assume that "average" Canadians polled know as little about US foreign policy is managed as implied in your questions, their opinions merely amount to uninformed second-guessing and have little value.
